Cabin Fever: Lucky number THREE!!! Jan. 18th & 19th.posted by Bob | January 14, 2008 | link
A couple years ago, Philip McCaleb, President and marketing guru at Genuine Scooter Company, gave me a call suggesting a method for shortening the Winter. The basic premise was to throw a party in the middle of the off season. As a devoted scooter rider, and rabid baseball fan, it made a lot of sense to me. Once you've sent your two wheeled friend into hibernation, it can get pretty lonely until the roads clear and the temps move back into favorable territory.
Thus was "Cabin Fever" born. A mid Winter break, designed to bring together the scootering faithful in a celebration of hope for what lies just ahead.
We also seized upon the opportunity to take a day to dramaticly reduce prices on over-stock and previous model year inventory. We have scooters on the floor. We have more scooters due in the Spring. Slash prices on previous year inventory and make room for the new stuff.
The great thing for the customer (YOU) is that typically there is little change in style or features from year to year, so a 2007 model year scooter can enter your life (or the life of that friend or co-worker who has been faithfully jealous of your scootering ways) for a substantially lower price than what you'd pay for a 2008 model.
Add in substantial discounts on in-stock merchandise and hourly raffles (free) plus the opportunity to rub shoulders with the bulk of the Twin Cities scooter brethern and sistern. It can't be beat!
There's all sorts of behind the scenes weirdness associated with this year's Cabin Fever. A ride from Duluth. [I don't know how they'll survive.] Philip McCaleb as a visiting dignitary. Live pod cast by justgottascoot.com and a going away celebration for our own Ed Raschke, who is moving to a promotional position with Genuine Scooter Co.
This year we've decided to expand the event to two days: January 18th & 19th. Friday and Saturday. Come on down and see what's in store or in stock for you or yours.
